Fortnite Review
With the rise of the battle royale video game genre along came Fortnite which is considered by many the king of battle royale and currently the face of gaming. Unless you live on your own private island with no internet you have at least heard of it from someone or somewhere on the internet. Fortnite was developed by Epic Games and was released in 2017. Originally starting out as a zombie survival game with the Save the World game mode Fortnite had little success, but when Epic added a battle royale game mode Fortnite’s player base grew rapidly.
Epic Games does a great job at keeping their player base entertained with new cosmetic items, new emotes, new limited time modes, map changes, new items, and a new story to go along with every season. The constant updates and new content is a big part of Fortnite’s success. The best thing about Fortnite is that it is completely free to play. You are not required to spend any money on fortnite, not even for PlayStation Network or Xbox Live memberships. However you can spend money to buy Fortnite’s seasonal battle pass for 950 V-Bucks equivalent to about ten dollars. With the battle pass you can unlock many new items and access to challenges that are fun to do when you get bored trying to get that victory royale.
Fortnite’s building mechanic is another huge reason it is so vastly popular. Being able to construct your own base with in seconds or build to the high ground to flank enemies, building takes the game to a whole other level. Fortnite’s building makes fight extremely fast paced, exciting, intense and sometimes even stressful. The building mechanics bring a high skill cap for the game making it very hard to compete with some players. Basically the better you can build the more you will win at the game.
Fortnite’s new creative mode brings a whole new light to the game. Allowing players to build hide and seek maps, death runs or to create a building masterpiece.
