Terraria Game Review
Terraria Review
Terraria was developed by Relogic and published by 505 games. Terraria was initially released on PC in May, 2011. Since the release and success of Terraria on PC the game was also released on other consoles such as, xbox 360, xbox one, ps3, and ps4. Terraria is an action-adventure 2D sandbox side scroller, and for how primitive the concept sounds some aspects of the gameplay are actually very complicated compared to other side scrollers in the same genre. The game is often compared to Minecraft because of the similarities in mining and killing monsters.
When first starting the game you are going to feel like you have no idea what to do which is most players initial reactions to the game if they haven’t seen it before. You will likely look up tutorials to try to figure out what you need to do progress. It is almost guaranteed that you will look up a tutorial on the game before beating it. After knowing how to play the game and what you need to do the game is a blast. Going through the progression of getting stronger armor and weapons is very rewarding as it is tough to do so in such a game. In Terraria there are 29 bosses and event bosses, a total of over 300 different enemies, almost 500 unique weapons at your disposal, and more of all this on its way with update 1.3.6. With so many different items and enemies you are sure to find something new everytime you play the game. All the different weapons and sets of armor allow the player to play as one of the four classes in Terraria; the mage, the summoner, the warrior, and the ranger, or you can just be all four as you do not need to be a specific class to use those items but you gain boosts and become a lot stronger if you specialize in one of them.
Overall Terraria is a fantastic experience with endless replayability. It is a game that is hard to put down once you started and is impossible to get bored of. Terraria is still being updated with fresh new looking biome backgrounds, new enemies, weapons, and bosses so Terraria always has something new to explore or fight. Just make sure that between destroying an entire army of goblins and fighting a giant Wall of Flesh be sure to leave time for the real world as it is easy to lose track of time playing this game.Terraria is truly a unique game and should definitely be played if you haven’t yet.
